I hadn’t spent a night on an modern adjustable bed before, but there’s a first time for everything, and I thought I’d document my experiences for the benefit of anybody who looking at mobility beds. More information is always useful, and I think that getting somebody’s personal experience of a product is a great way to learn about it.
I started off by raising the back of the bed up so I was in a comfortable sitting position, and I read my book. There wasn’t a television in the room, so I didn’t try out watching one, but I can’t see why there would be any problems doing so. It felt a bit weird at first, but it was much more comfortable than propping up a pillow and leaning against that.
Once I decided to get to sleep, it was a simple matter to lower the back down again. However, I then spent longer than I should have experimenting with different positions to lie down in. I’m sure that once you know your favourite, actually getting to sleep would happen sooner, but I couldn’t help experimenting with all the different choices. Eventually, I decided I did have to sleep and found a comfortable position, then turned off the light.
I slept soundly all night and when I awoke I was still perfectly comfortable. I didn’t have any of the usual twinges or aches that I often do first thing in the morning, which was wonderful. Then, I used the bed to lift me into a sitting position and easily got out of the bed.
Overall, it was an excellent night’s sleep.
