The Rolling Stones have retained their crown as legends of rock after giving their younger competitors a fierce challenge at the recent NME Awards. The veteran rockers beat the likes of Led Zeppelin, Blur and Biffy Clyro to win Best Live Band and Best Music Film at the awards ceremony which was held this week.
The band have been together for 50 years and the songs created by Mick Jagger, 69, Keith Richards, 69, Ronnie Wood, 65, and Charlie Watts, 71, remain some of the most iconic songs of their era and beyond. They proved that their experience in the music industry and influence on fans is still huge after walking away with two of the most prestigious awards at the ceremony.
The success that The Rolling Stones have had at the NME Awards is just one of their many achievements spanning their 50 year career, and they will all be able to add a couple more trophies to gaze at whilst relaxing in rise and recline chairs.
